In recent years, the interdisciplinary integration of optics‑photonics, microelectronics and materials science has given rise to optoelectronic technology, a hot‑button field that serves as a critical pillar for modern information society and scientific and technological innovation. The optoelectronics industry has built a complete industrial chain, driving the upgrading of traditional industries and growth of emerging sectors, and playing a vital role in national economy.
To advance high‑quality development of China’s optoelectronic industry and support western‑region growth, the Chinese Society for Optical Engineering (CSOE) brings together stakeholders from government, industry, academia, research institutes, finance, service providers and end‑users to host the 2026 West China Photonics Symposium in Chengdu, Sichuan, China,at the end of December 4–6, 2026. The Opening Ceremony and Plenary Sessions will take place on 5 December 2026. Adopting a “1+9+N” framework that integrates conference, exhibition and immersive experience activities, the symposium highlights an international vision, specialization, high‑end orientation and practical value. Focusing on cutting‑edge optoelectronic technologies and applications, it builds a cross‑disciplinary industry‑university‑research platform to deepen optoelectronic industrial layout and international cooperation in Western China, and foster a world‑class optoelectronic technology and industrial hub for the region.
